BWCAW - Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Trip - June, 2009 - Lake One to Hudson Lake
BWCAW - Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Trip - June, 2009. Lake One Entry Point #30 to Hudson Lake and back. The most challenging and most amazing wilderness experience of my life and I can't wait to do it again. The Weather was not good which affected the fishing. He had a lot of rain and winy conditions. One night it down poured the entire night. We got lost for about 2 hours between Lake Four and Hudson Lake going in. Made a wrong turn onto Kawishiwi River.

Dominican Republic - Fishing Tour
The only thing that was caught was us. Still, at least we got to see the beautifully blue waters of the Atlantic (highlighted with our boot) and sing songs.

POOR ST. CLAIRE
St. Claire Pollock... The Grave of an Amiable Child There is a place in New York City that even many New Yorkers don't know about. Just a bit north and west of Grant's tomb and not far from where I was born, is a little grave sight. Maintained for over two centuries by God knows who. In 1792, a little boy stayed or visited in a dwelling, with his parents, on the cliffs there. One sad day, July 15th, 1797, this little boy, St. Claire, went fishing with his Father. Somehow, he lost his footing and fell down the cliff to the Hudson River banks. Some years after that tragedy, his parents sold off the property , with the promise by the new owner, to maintain the little grave. Years later, I heard that part of the property became a carriage stop for people traveling to the northern parts of the City and to Westchester County. Still, years after that, it became a fine restaurant and dancing parlor. My Parents and my Aunts and Uncles all went there in the 30s and 40s. It was then called the Clarmont, still in respect to that little ,lost life or named, by the new owner, after his home in Scotland.. .... either way poignant. Sometime in the recent past, in 1950 or 1951, it was demolished and is now just a memory...like so many things in the City... but that grave remains there and can still be visited. I have always been taken with that story and its facts for some reason. Part history and part tragedy, I suppose. I've always thought of that line from ,"For Whom the Bell Tolls ...
