For the brief time Fishing Island made a huge impact on Kona Fishing and made it's way onto several local television programs including Fishing Tales with Mike Sakamoto in the Summer of 1990. Mike stayed on board for for some night fishing and dinner, watch as Mike and other visitors hook 10-12 lb Bigeye Tunas. Fishing Trip from Kona Kai Resort, Key Largo FL Mitchell, returning to the Kona Kai Resort in Key Largo, FL. His fishing guide picked him up at 6:30am, and returned him at 11:00am. Hammerhead Rescue - Kona Team IF The Kona Scholars team find several hammerhead sharks displaying abnormal behavior. They snorkel closer to get a better look and find one of the sharks is hooked and is dragging a fishing line.
