Double Hookup On Anglers - Blue Shark Fishing http://www.bragnrelease.com We were cubing for Yellowfin Tuna and Albacore, when one very hungry Blue Shark scoffed two of the baits and gave two first time game fishermen a tussle they won't forget for a while. After eventually getting this magnificent specimen up for a chat and a few pics, she bid us a fond farewell. I'm continually amazed by how many sharks we catch and release, mainly Makos and Blues, despite only using the 60-80lb traces and 6/0 circle hooks we use for Tuna and they all go home in good condition. nice blue shark I caught on ultra light tackle My father and I were shark fishing off the coast of Montauk. Lots of sharks were caught and released. This smaller blue shark (approx 75lbs) was hanging out in the slick. It would of been no contest catching him on out shark gear (penn 50s 2-speed, lamiglas 5650 CPO) so I decided to try my luck with my bluefishing rod ( daiwa Dforce #DWD-701MHBWS, Shimano 3500B baitrunner spooled with ANDE 15# test gray, and a standard bluefish hook w/ 6'' wire leader). So after a 45 min fight, Almost getting spooled twice, I told my dad to break out the camera and take a flick of my catch. He couldn't believe it when I got the fish to the boat. He thought I was either going to break my rod or get spooled. To say the least It was the best fight I had to date (besides a few makos and tuna) and was a blast getting it to the boat. The barb of my hook was in the eye of another hook that was already in the sharks mouth. O, and my pops isn't good with a camera so I had to coach him a little.... ENJOY Views: 7963 Rating:
