Saving Endangered Fish Doom and gloom has become a standard refrain related to the state of ocean ecosystems and vanishing marine species. But Andrew A. Rosenberg, professor of natural resources at the University of New Hampshire, Durham, offers some positive news -- examples where fishing has been halted or sufficiently reduced to allow endangered fish stocks to recover within a decade if sufficiently stringent limits were set and enforced. Seabrook New Hampshire (NH) Real Estate Tour www.seabrooknhrealestate.com -- Tour Seabrook, NH neighborhoods, condominium developments, subdivisions, schools, landmarks, recreational areas, and town offices. Seabrook, New Hampshire began as a rural farming community on the Massachusetts border. Seabrook was settled as early as 1638. Its name was suggested by the fact that so many rivers and streams run through it. The town historically was a small rural community with a beautiful harbor, beach, and dunes. The salt marsh was hayed and used by local farmers, and the fishing business was based in the harbor. As Massachusetts increased its sales tax, New Hampshire became firm in its decision to never add a sales or income tax. Seabrook became the major retail destination on the Eastern portion of New Hampshire to service residents who cross the state line to avoid a sales tax. Today, Seabrook is a thriving retail community whose people have maintained a strong interest in religious, fraternal, social, and youth organizations. For other town tours visit http . Walpole New Hampshire (NH) Real Estate Tour www.walpolenhrealestate.com Tour Walpole, NH neighborhoods, condominium developments, subdivisions, schools, landmarks, recreational areas, and town offices. Walpole, New Hampshire is a village of uncommon beauty and quiet charm. Situated along the Connecticut River, which marks the natural border between New Hampshire and Vermont, Walpole enjoys stunning rural scenery, a relaxed pace of life and a variety of annual cultural events. It contains many architecturally significant old houses, including several associated with Col. Benjamin Bellows, Walpole's founder, and members of his family. The first bridge across the Connecticut River, something of an engineering achievement, was built here in 1785 and is one of the United States' most famous early spans. Agriculture and poultry remain staples of Walpole's economy. Walpole offers a wide array of recreational and leisure activities for residents and visitors alike. The Connecticut and Cold Rivers feature excellent fishing, while an extensive and well maintained snowmobile trail system winds through Walpole and the surrounding region. Several major ski areas are just a short drive from the Walpole area, including Ascutney, Bromley, Stratton, Okemo, Killington and Sunapee. Walpole has a town recreation area with a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts and a jogging track. In the summertime there are band concerts on the Village Green, which has changed little in over a century. Walpole is hardly alone among area towns ... Views: 208 Rating:

nhmoose1 Labor Day 2009 CT lakes region of New Hampshire. First day to my favorite fly fishing spot. A bull moose emerged from the fog and was checking me out. When he got a little close for comfort (40 feet!), I stopped filming and waved my arms. He fled the scene, leaving behind his girl, who I had not seen farther back in the cove. You can see how she does a little "double take" when she sees that her beau is in retreat and she decides to make tracks, too. Views: 242 Rating:
