The Bell from the steeple of Chain Lake Lutheran Church...Located in De Groat Township This is the monument that was put up after the church was tore down in 1990. The farmstead I grew up on was a quarter of a mile east of here. Back when we were growing up, we would visit the church on Christmas Eve, go up in the steeple and ring the bell by pulling on the rope...this was a LOT of fun since the rope would pull us off of the ground a few feet when the bell would swing back and forth!
