Magone Lake is one of the most picturesque spots in all of the Northwest. If you ever get to Eastern Oregon, try to find the time to visit this gorgeous lake. The water is clear and inviting. Virgin Ponderosa Pines surround the water's edge. Sniff the bark closely: At times it smells like yummy vanilla! A nice paved path allows one to walk around the lake, viewing beaver and muskrat, deer, and birds of various kinds, including eagles on rare occasion. During the early morning and later evenings, the lake usually becomes mirror-smooth, and it is one of the most gorgeous places on planet earth you'll ever see. There is a nice beach area where one can sunbathe and many of the locals go there to enjoy a relaxing swim on hot summer days, and enjoy a barbeque picnic at the same time. There are beautiful campsites for over-nighters, and wooden picnic tables strategically located around the lake for those seeking solitude - a bit of privacy. If you are stressed out with life, you are highly encouraged to try some "Magone Lake Tranquility Therapy." Be advised however ... it is highly addictive!
