Key West Sailfish A rough day (6-8 ft swells) in March but the sails were biting. It was the time of the year when a color change happens off the reef. The gulf stream gets closer to shore and the sea changes from a dirty green tint to powder blue to dark blue. The sails are usually in the powder to dark blue water. We were fishing with a friend, Becke, from Sweden who had never caught a fish bigger than a small pike. Needless to say he had an experience of a lifetime. We went 2 for 4 on the sails within 2-3 hours. We were using live threadfins on 20lb class spinning rods. Views: 491 Rating:
