Caught everything from largemouth bass and snook to bluegill and cichlids fishing the brackish canal systems in the Glades backcountry this past weekend. The water temps have warmed up almost 8 degrees in the back compared to what they were running a couple of weeks ago so a lot of the snook and tarpon I was catching during the cold snap have moved away from these waters and pushed closer to the Gulf. Even though the action from snook and juvenile tarpon was slow, I had plenty of takes on fly from cichlids. They are definitely hard fighters especially on light tackle and are biting throughout the Glades as well as in local lakes and canals.
