[Cocoa Beach] During the past week, several redfish have been willing to bite both artificial and fresh dead baits when fished near the bottom. At first light, Nemire's ½ ounce Spin Ripper has enticed several slot size reds into biting. Retrieving this lure just above the grass flats near pot holes and drop offs is the key for a successful hookup.

[Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me on my flats skiff the Snook fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, caught and released trout, snook, flounder, blues, little tunny, Spanish mackerel and reds during the past couple of weeks. The fastest action continues to be in the coastal gulf with little tunny. Spanish mackerel are also plentiful but we actually avoided mackerel schools in lieu of their much stronger cousins.

[Shell Beach] So it was just Stan, Sydney, and me. As we left Campo's we saw some birds working in the MRGO. We headed over to check them out and found the Trout eating on shrimp. Sydney was having a blast catching the biggest Trout of the day and also the only Red.

[Pine Island Sound] The weather is absolutely perfect and the fishing is pretty darn good too around Pine Island in southwest Florida. Last week started off a little on the breezy and rainy side but by the weekend the temperature, humidity and wind dropped leaving us with bright blue skies and calm seas.
