[Lake Fork] With the spawn behind us (well mostly, there were still a few on beds last week!) and the weather turning hot, bass are settling into traditional summer patterns. The hot days with lots of sunshine have been best for me, grouping big schools up on deep structure.

[Kennebec River] Yesterday, I had Chris Oliver of Knight Marine Service ,located in Rockland, Maine, back aboard. Chris fishes with me several times each season in various locations and has been guided to his first stripers of the year going back the last 7-8 years aboard my boat...this year would be no different. This time out had a great day of fishing on Maine's Kennebec River.

[Lake Mateos] For the past 20 years, Lake El Salto reigned among bass lakes as the best place to catch a double-digit largemouth in Mexico. For really big bass, those in the 8- to 12-pound range, Lake El Salto is still the place to go, but Lake Mateos is coming on strong -- not only for numbers, but big fish.

[Point Pleasant] On Saturday 6/5 NetKeeper Sportfishing hosted the James Deegan Charter. Released one short in Rockaway before hitting some snags. Ended the day with some nice Sea Bass and Ling. Tough day of fishing to swallow after the prior 2 weeks. Nonetheless, the guys fished hard all day and went home with some meat.

[Point Pleasant] With some northern commitments for the upcoming weeks, I moved the boat back from Pt Pleasant to our home at Sandy Hook Bay Marina. Headed back to where we left them biting earlier in the day. With 1 rod in hand and 2 dead sticks, I went 6 for 10 with fish up to 40#. All fish released to fight another day.
