[Miami,FL] In the past two weeks I have done a split of daytime swordfish trips (6) trips, and trips on the edge (5).
[Miami,FL] Starting in on the edge, the sailfish are definitely starting to show up and it has been a very good early season so far. I have also done a bit of swordfishing both day and night.
[Miami,FL] October is usually a month of transition. We say goodbye to the summer fishing for dorados and get ready for the winter run of sailfish.
[Miami,FL] In the past two weeks we have had some good trips and some slow trips. The good trips were all on the edge.
[Miami,FL] In the past two weeks we have done a few daytime sword trips, trips on the edge and fishing in the Gulfstream for dorados.
[Miami,FL] Fishing on the edge has been very productive. Almost every one of our trips on the edge we have caught our limit of kings. Offshore there have been plenty of dolphin around.
[Miami,FL] In the past week or so we have done a couple of daytime sword trips, a few dolphin trips and a trip to Bimini.
[Miami,FL] The fishing off of Miami has been absolutely excellent. We have been extremely lucky to have everything biting.
[Miami,FL] Summer is here and now is the time for trips to the Bahamas, day and night swords, hunting for mahis in the Stream and going after blackfins in the late afternoon.
[Miami,FL] What a great couple of weeks of fishing. I have fished 20 days already this month and it is only April 22nd. I have had a blast as this is one of my favorite months to fish due to the variety.
[Miami,FL] Spring is definitely getting closer as we are seeing a lot more variety in the fish we catch. Sailfish are still on the top of the list and they have been around in decent numbers.
[Miami,FL] Fishing has been a bit on the erratic side. There has been a consistent wind out of the West and Northwest which has pushed dirty green water on the edge.
[Miami,FL] I have done a variety of trips in the last few weeks, with most of them being sailfish trips. This is a great time of year for sailfishing in Miami
[Miami,FL] There has been a lot of cold weather in the United States, and the cold weather even found its way down to South Florida.....The cold fronts did spark up the fishing though.
[Miami,FL] The week between Christmas and New Year is always busy and this year we had great fishing to go with it.
[Miami,FL] We are settled in to some pretty good fishing in Miami. The sailfish are biting
[Miami,FL] Sailfish are already appearing off of South Florida. It doesn’t take long but soon after our first cold front of the year, sailfish have already made their way into the waters of South Florida.
[Miami,FL] The past two weeks have been non-stop fishing. We have been doing a variety of trips from fishing the edge, fishing the wrecks, day time and night time swordfishing as well as dolphin fishing in the Gulfstream.
[Miami,FL] Whenever we go daytime swordfishing, we are hoping to catch a big swordfish. A fish over 300 pounds is awesome, but a fish over 400 pounds is intense. Last Friday was that day.
[Miami,FL] A couple of things have happened since my last report 2 weeks ago. The swords have shown up and the charters are back.
[Miami,FL] Fishing on the edge has still been the best bet. Even though we are entering August and the water is plenty warm, there are still a lot of fish around.
[Miami,FL] The good news is that we have been concentrating on either daytime swordfish or fishing on the edge and both have been very good.
[Miami,FL] Last week the fishing was on fire. This week is still remains good
[Miami,FL] The bite in Miami has been great and I think it is actually going to get better this month and next as we start to see more blackfin tunas and bigger kingfish, as well as the sailfish and dolphin that are already here
[Miami,FL] Sailfish are definitely here and pretty plentiful in our waters. It hasn’t even been two weeks into January and we already have had some great days sailfishing. Our best day so far has been 11 sailfish caught out of 17 strikes.
[Miami,FL] I hope everyone is having a great holiday season and enjoying time with friends and family. I would also like to take this opportunity and thank all my clients, friends and sponsors for another great year for Double D Charters.
[Miami,FL] The cold fronts that keep coming are getting the sails fired up. It should be a great month to fish.
[Miami,FL] We have done some daytime swordfishing, one evening swordfish trip and a few sailfish trips. I am happy to say that we have caught all of the targeted species for all of our customers.
[Melbourne,FL] As soon as cold fronts start to reach South Florida, the fishing improves almost instantly. For the past few months we have mostly been day time swordfishing and that has gone great.
[Miami,FL] This is typically a slow time of year for the charter boats and the ailing economy is making things just a bit worse. Luckily I was able to get in 4 trips last week
[Miami,FL] We have had some close calls with hurricanes this past month, but luckily all 4 hurricanes have avoided us. I wish the best and a speedy recovering for our fellow friends in Texas and Louisiana.
[Miami,FL] The daytime sword bite has started. For the past few weeks, we have had a few daytime sword trips and with the exception of yesterday, we have caught swordfish on every trip.
[Miami,FL] This has been a great start for August. On the edge, from 200 to 100 foot of water, there have been a lot of kingfish and bonitas, as well as a few sailfish.
[Miami,FL] If you enjoy dolphin fishing in the Gulfstream, then you need to get out there now. The dolphin fishing for the last two weeks has been about as good as it can get,
[Miami,FL] For the past 12 days I have been in the Bahamas and have enjoyed some of the best 12 days of fishing you could imagine.
[Miami,FL] The fishing remains good with some dolphin offshore and some sailfish, kingfish, blackfin tunas and bonitas on the edge.
[Miami,FL] In the last report, I mentioned that we would be heading to the Bahamas for a few trips and we went to Bimini twice.
[Miami,FL] The end of April and so far May, have proved to be a great time to fish in South Florida. We have had as many as 15 shots one day with sailfish (we caught 8 that day), we also had a day with 9 sailfish releases and multiple days with 4 to 7 releases. Add a few blackfin tunas, some kingfish and a big mahi or two, and now we are talking of some great action on the edge.
[Miami,FL] Since my last report, we have had 10 great days of fishing. I ended up fishing 10 out of the past 11 days and each day the fishing was excellent.
[Miami,FL] Spring continues to produce quality catches and a variety of species. It sounds like a broken record, but spring is my favorite time to fish in South Florida.
[Miami,FL] If variety is what you want, these next two months will be the best time to fish in South Florida. Spring has arrived in South Florida and in the last two weeks we have seen hints of what the fishing will be like for a few months.
[Miami,FL] Sorry for the long delay between reports, but since my last report I have fished every single day but one. The good news is that the fishing has been good.
[Miami,FL] Well not only did things get back on track, but I witnessed the best sailfishing I have ever seen off of Miami yesterday. We ended up catching 26 sailfish out of 31 that we hooked.
[Miami,FL] It is sailfish time! We had a great day this week were we caught 15 sailfish in one day.
[Miami,FL] Now to the fishing part. We spent a lot of time in December fishing for swordfish both during the day and at night.
[Miami,FL] Since my last report, we have been splitting our time between daytime swordfish trips and fishing on the edge for sailfish, dolphin and kings.
[Miami,FL] What a great two weeks of fishing since my last resort. We have had some incredible days and some very happy (and sore) anglers.
[Miami,FL] The beginning of sailfish season is here. Although we can catch sailfish at any time during the year, the “official” season begins in November.
[Miami,FL] I normally post reports every two weeks or so, but we caught such a huge swordfish, that everyone wants to hear the details.
[Miami,FL] For the guys following my fishing reports, you know that I have been experimenting with catching swordfish during the day.
