Captain Bill on the "Sailfish" was on a roll the last week of February averaging 12 Sailfish and 3 Dorado (40 pounds) per day.

John Jackson and some friends went out on the "Ashley Nicole" with Captain Dean and had a really good day. They caught 4 Sailfish, a Mahi Mahi for dinner, a striped Marlin and John got his first ever "Blue Marlin"…congrats John.

Mark and his group went out on the "Barbarrosa" and caught 8 Sailfish, 3 Dorado and one Striped Marlin.

Captain Jeremy on the "R&J" caught a 70 pound Broom tail Grouper.

Captain Glenn on the "Bethina" took a group from Minnesota 55 miles out and was rewarded by raising 30 Sailfish and Marlin.

Captain Kevin on the "Hot Reels" had a good day going 4 for 8 on Sailfish. They also caught 2 nice Dorado and a 300 plus pound Blue Marlin.

Captain Dave on the "MissBehavin" took a group a guys from Philly out to corner and had a great day going 8 for 11 on Sailfish and they caught one nice Mahi Mahi for the grill.

Captain Dana on the "Hoo's your Daddy" went 7 for 10 on Sails in the same area…they also raised a 300 pound Blue Marlin.

Randy and his wife from Florida went out on the "Scorpion" and caught 2 Sailfish, raised a 300 plus pound Marlin and caught a 50 plus pound Bull Mahi Mahi. That's their biggest Mahi ever so they are having a mount made.

Captain RJ on the "Predator" fished offshore and caught 6 Sailfish, 4 Dorado and a big Striped Marlin.

March Fish Forecast --

Hopefully the big Sailfish numbers will continue in March. The second leg of the Los Suenos Billfish Series is this month and some big Sailfish and Marlin numbers would be a wonderful thing.

The Marlin fishing will be consistent with the occasional Blue and Black being caught. The Striped Marlin bite was above average in February…look for that to continue.

There will also be lots of big Dorado and Tuna caught by boats going offshore for Sailfish and Marlin.

March Fish of the Month – Marlin

The second leg of the Los Suenos Signature Billfish Tournament is March 12th – 15th. More than 50 boats are expected to compete for over $200,000 in prizes.

Captain Marvin and the crew of "The Bite" won the first event in January by releasing 6 Striped Marlin and 22 Sailfish. With the Maverick boats finishing 1st,2nd and 3rd in that tourney expect one of those boats to be the favorite for the second go round.

The bite has been good so I'll guess the winning boat will release 50 plus Sailfish and a half dozen Marlin in the 3 day event. Sailfish are worth 100 points and any Marlin is worth 500 points. All fish are released.

Stop by bubba's and listen to the "live" fish reports on the VHF radio.

Good Luck and Good Fishing,

bubba
