9/8/10 Mr. Ian McKnight caught a fine Grilse and 6 Trout to his rod fishing with his gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea and of www.Oshealoughcurrane.com and just for the record other anglers did produce a few smaller Trout, but nothing that would make the Angling headlines. Wind variable between W and NW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 2.0mm, max air temperature 17.4c. 10/8/10 Mr. Jack Barret caught 2 Juniors with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea and staying in the junior Class, in the hired out boat department of www.Oshealoughcurrane.com Mr. Liam McKnight and Mr. Simon York, caught 3 Sea Trout, also in good form was Local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, who also caught 2 Juniors, otherwise all quiet on the SW front, max air temperature 17.1c.11/8/10 Mr. Bob Wiley caught 4 Trout, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea, in the Salmon department, local Gillie Mr. Bob priestly, caught a 5lbs grilse on the fly while drifting for my Noble sea Trout. Wind NNW light to fresh, with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 0.5mm, max air temperature 18.4c. 12/8/10 Lough Currane was on the quiet side, but at least one angler did see a bit of action, Mr. Mike Power, caught one Junior with his Gillie Mr. Tom O'Shea, there was a NE wind blowing down the lake, plus there was heavy cold showers at times, which didn't make for good fishing, now we head upstream to the Higher lakes, on Lough Derriana, German Anglers fishing with their Gillie Frank Donnelly, caught 4 Sea Trout. Amount of rainfall 1.1mm, max air temperature 17.2. 13/8/10 Straight to the Sea Trout department, Local Gillie, Mr. Bob Priestly caught 2 Juniors, Mr. Dan Sugrue of Tralee and Waterville, also caught 2 Juniors with his Gillie, Mr. Brod O'Sullivan of Stella Maris guesthouse Waterville, Clients fishing with their Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton Snr , caught 6 Sea Trout, now we head down stream to the Butler Pool, Renowned Gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer, caught a fine 9lbs Salmon on the fly. Wind NNW light and overcast, amount of rainfall 0.7mm, max air temperature 17.1c. 14/8/10 Straight to the Sea Trout department, Local Gillie, Mr. Bob Priestly, was telling me that he caught 2 Juniors on the dry fly in Copal on the south side, and staying with the Sea trout department, Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.Lakelandshouse.com was telling me that guests fishing in one of his Hired out boats caught 10 sea Trout ranging from Junior Class up to 2lbs, now we go down stream to the Butler Pool where there was some fine action, A guest caught a 4lbs Grilse, with his Gillie, Mr. Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com but catch of the day with 3 grilse weighing in at 5lbs 4.lbs 3.5lbs, goes to that renowned Angler Dr. Tim Gleason, fishing with his gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer, and if you don't take my word for it, go to by blog @ www.Salmonandseatrout.com and look up April 4th you will see my Noble Doctor holding a fine specimen Sea trout. Wind NW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, now to the hired out department, Mr. Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com gave me some fine catches from the last few days and they are as follows, Mr. Simon Quirk of Belfast, in 3 days fishing caught 1 Salmon on the Butler pool and 7 Juniors on Lough Currane, Mr. Jonathan Brush, from Belfast, caught 10 Juniors for his 6 days fishing. 15/8/10 I start on a sad note that Angler, Mr. Robert Wasmuth of the UK and Waterville died on the 10/8/10 and on behalf of all the Waterville and the Caherdaniel Parishes I send our condolences to Jennifer and all his family and friends.
