29/3/10 Made a big flood today, which should make for good fishing this Easter week. Wind SSW light and overcast with light rain during the day. Amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 21mm, max air temperature 11.6c. 30/3/10 It was a wild day on Lough Currane with a strong NNW wind blowing with violent gusts, followed by a mixture of rain hale sleet and snow and if a fishermen did venture out good luck to him. Amount of rainfall 7.5mm, max air temperature 8.4c. 31/3/10 Again It was a wild day on Waterville Lake/Lough Currane with a strong North wind blowing but that didn't deter Mr. John Bojtor of the UK from going, and catching a fine 4lbs Seatrout on the troll with his Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer and Mike was telling me that john and he had some real bad luck with five Salmon lost in the past week and one of them was a cracker which John hooked on the fly but the rascal lives to fight another day, but at least they saw some good action but sadly no rewards until today. Wind as already stated, max air temperature 7.5c, amount of rainfall 4.5mm, and just for the record there was 125.9mm of rainfall for the month of march. 1/4/10 You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that today is April fools day and we anglers were taken good and proper by my Noble salmon. Wind W then veered SSE light to fresh. With reasonable cloud cover with the odd shower, amount of rainfall 4.4mm, max air temperature 10.0c. 2/4/10 All quiet this Good Friday in all the departments and that includes the liquid departments. Wind SSW light to calm and variable with reasonable cloud cover, plus the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 13.9mm, max air temperature 9.4c. 3/4/10 There were a few good boats out, but alas, they all failed in their duties in catching my noble Salmon, but the same couldn't be said in the Seatrout department, because there is good news the first specimen Seatrout was caught on the fly at the point of Grassy island by that renowned specimen Seatrout hunter Mr. Bernd Rall of Germany fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville boats and @ Watervilleboats@gmail.com Wind N fresh to strong with April showers throughout the day.4/4/10 There was some great action on Lough Currane this Easter Sunday and I will start in the Salmon department there was a 9lbs Salmon caught on the troll by local Gillie Mr Bob priestly the second Salmon was a cracker of a fish of 11lbs caught on the troll by Mr. and Mrs. Power of Australia fishing with their Gillie, my good self. Now to the specimen Seatrout department, there was a fine Seatrout of just under 9lbs caught by Dr Tim Gleeson caught on the troll and he also caught a nice Seatrout in the 3lbs class with his Gillie Mr Michael Dwyer and @ mikegdwyer@gmail.com and the second specimen Seatrout of 8.5lbs also caught on the troll was by young Mr. Terence Wharton and just for the record both Seatrout were caught on the south side of Lough Currane, staying with the Seatrout, Mr. Bob Priestley caught a Seatrout in the 2lbs class on the fly. Wind SW light to fresh with the odd light shower which turned heavy this evening, amount of rainfall 9.3mm, max air temperature 10.4c. That is your ration for this week form your gillie and the Waterville Fishery. No Spin no Fly's just Facts
