Details:The GMR 20 and GMR 40; two powerful marine radars designed for use with the Garmin Marine Network.. Both models feature a narrow 3.6-degree horizontal and 25-degree vertical beam width, which allows for accurate target acquisition and better penetration through rain and fog. Transmit power is 2kW and 4kW respectively for 24nm and 36nm range.The new Garmin marine radar is a completely self-contained system. All processing of target data occurs inside the weatherproof radome; data is then shared through a simple waterproof network connection to Garmin's GPSMAP. 3006C and GPSMAP 3010C chartplotter/multifunction displays (MFDs). Radar data can be viewed right on the MFD and can even be overlaid onto chart detail. For collision avoidance, the system features MARPA (Mini Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) which allows boaters to track the course, speed and predicted closest approach for multiple targets (heading sensor required). Receiver gain and receiver tuning can be automatic or manually adjusted.
