It's not often that I get a chance to "fun fish" with friends, so yesterday evening was a lot of fun for me. My good buddy "violent Jay" is taking some time off from chartering on Lake Erie, so he and his dad ventured up our way for a few days to "blow the stink off" as they say. Jay's dad didn't make it out with us this evening, and boy did he miss a good time! We got on the water shortly after 6 p.m. and we had our two man limit by 8 p.m. and were heading for the Rapid River Pub for some good food. We got Jay's dad to help hold the stick for a picture though...just to rub it in a little. We caught all our fish trolling Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) bottom bouncers and spinners. Color didn't make a difference as long as it was Purple I-48 that you had on your line. We tried other colors...but by the time we were done, 5 out of 6 lines had that color on. If we didn't have so many fish come un-buttoned we would have probably been done in an hour. The fish are starting to put on the feedbag, and it should only get better with some warming weather. Here's some pictures and video of our fish, good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!
