Lower Luguna Madre, Texas - Saltwater Fishing Report
Port Isabel

Recently down in S. Texas I have been fishing for alternative (snook, mangrove snappers)species and having some big time excitement. I have been staying off the flats for the most part and fishing channel drop offs and heavy industrial cover. Let me explain about the industrial cover. Down here on the Lower Laguna Madre in S. Texas we have several shrimp fleet marinas and barge delivery turning basins with lots of pilings, rip/rap, and massive sea walls. Perfect places for the heavily structure oriented snook and mangrove snapper. We have taken snook up to 15lbs. on spin and fly and mangrove snappers on top waters up to 71/2lbs. What a blast!! Be persistent and stick to the heavy cover and you will get your prize. Please contact Capt. Jim Blackburn with questions or reservation requests.

Tightlinges,

Capt. Jim Blackburn
