Spring has sprung here on the lower Tampa Bay and the fishing could not be hotter! The Snook fishing has been absolutely dynamite catching great numbers of fish up to 32 inches. We have been targeting these fish in shallow water flats along the mangrove lines in Terra Cia Bay and as far south as Anna Maria Island using white bait. This week we have been averaging 40 Snook per trip between 18 and 30 inches.

Our Trout fishing has been exceptional as well fishing the deeper flats in the lower Tampa Bay. We have been fishing white bait in 4 to 6 feet of water catching trout up to 22 inches this week. We have been targeting trout drifting the deeper flats on the east side of the lower Tampa Bay. Once we hook up we set anchor; fortunately we have been finding Trout in good numbers once we hook the first fish. Targeting the deeper flats also gives you an opportunity to catch many other quality fish as well. Along with the Trout we have caught Sharks up to 3 feet, Mackerel, Snapper, juvenile Grouper, and a occasional Tarpon.

Our weather has been a little to rough to target Tarpon here lately but once this wind dies down we will be ready to go!
