With a very exciting season under our belt, it is now time for over 30 of the top redfish teams on the panhandle to battle it out in beautiful Panama City, FL, to see who will be crowned ECRC champions for 2009. In 2009, the redfish club held 9 one day tournaments over a 10 month span from Panama city to the backwaters of Pensacola. After an exciting year, nothing is more satisfying than having the opportunity to fish against best of the best in hopes to take home the championship crown. With beautiful weather expected for the weekend, we are sure this will be the perfect ending to a fantastic season.

The ECRC could not have picked a better venue for the 2009 championship. Panama City's bay systems rank amongst the top fisheries in the state of Florida. Each year, several large professional tournaments are held in Panama City, along with some of the largest local tournaments on the Gulf Coast. This area exceeds other fisheries for a number of different reasons. First of all, the area of fishable water is very large and anglers don't have to make long runs to catch quality fish. Secondly, the crystal clear waters of Panama City Bay, is enticing to sight fisherman. At the present time, the shallows are full of redfish, so prepare to see some very large weights brought to the scales on Saturday.

The ECRC has grown rapidly since the 2008 season. We have been fortunate enough to pick up a number of sponsors through this growth and popularity. The help of our sponsors allows us to provide quality prizes to tournament winners throughout the season. The club's prize pool at the championship will be larger than ever, so this is one tournament that you shouldn't miss!

Team check in for the championship will be from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. at Boondocks under the highway 79 bridge. We will proceed with a shotgun start at safe light which will be determined Saturday morning. All teams are to be back at the launch by 3:00 p.m. for the weigh-in, which will start at 3:15 p.m. This is truly an ECRC event that everyone should attend. Following the weigh-in we will have an awards ceremony and an end of the year party starting at 4:00 p.m. Please feel free to invite your family and friends to join the festivities!

Congrats on a great season, and we look forward to seeing you at Boondocks.
