It has been a busy fall but I always get stacked up with folks over the holidays and the fishing couldn't be much better. The weather has been phenomenal and the fish cooperative. One of my friends from Shakespeare, Matt Fletcher was down for a trip and we had a good day with reds and trout.

On another excursion, Mike Blakely and I torched the redfish and caught 5 speckled seatrout that weighed in at 3 lbs on the boga. That's serious trout for our area.

I had the opportunity to fish with my son Michael and my brother Chip last Sunday and to say we had a good time would be a gross understatement. Thick skin is needed when the three of us are in the boat and it was brutal at times but the younger Upchurch survived with only minor scars. I would tell you how he had a huge redfish chasing his bait to the boat only to have him(Michael) SNATCH the bait from the water as the red was about to inhale it but that would be too embarassing.(Sorry Dad. I freaked!)

The time is right. Let's go fishing.........
