Big St Johns River Schoolers

St. Johns River, Florida - Freshwater Fishing Report
Sanford

The past three days have been some of the best artifical fishing you can ask for.

The shad run is in full swing on the St Johns River and the big fish that have already spawned are putting these shad to good use.For the next three months you will not find a better place to artifical fish.Main river points and under water shellbeds

will be the areas to key in on.I like to burn a LongShank tandom willow

3/8 oz spinner bait in a shad color through these big schooling fish.My client Tony had the trip of a lifetime the past three days Tony is from NY and has never

seen anything like these big schoolers crashing the water hour after hour.

A long with the schooling fish we have been fishing for a BIG fish later in

the day around floating matts of grass and this has been productive as well.

Tony caught the four fish in the picture this morning in about 30 minutes

as the big fish busted shad.

If you are looking for some great artifical fishing the next three months

then the St Johns River is the place to be.

The fish are still spawning and the shiner fishing is on fire as well.

Tony has caught three over 8 pounds on shiners the past three days.
