Fellow Anglers,

Fished the Sandy Hook Bay Anglers Tournament with my son and a few friends today. WOW......talk about banging a load of fish! We caught 51 fish today, with a keeper count at 11 and our biggest fish weighing 4.2 lbs. Too bad that would never be close enough to make the money board for this contest. Congrats to Vito Manzi for his 11 lb. doormat and 1st place prize. There were other competing fish that were in the 9,8 and 7 lb. category with a lot of the fish being taken at the Ambrose. Unfortunately, I decided to fish the Sandy Hook Channel which gave us great numbers of fish, but just not the biggest one for some prize money. We were catching fish on all types of bait, with Mackerel strips doing the best for baits as well as 4 oz. Spro bucktails with Gulp also doing just as well.

All in all, my group had a great time, and a ton of fillets to take home. My son Chris caught the biggest fish.....takes after his dad. Thanks Chris for your hard fishing
