Fellow Anglers,

Fished with the Doug Newlin party from Milltown NJ today and decided to give the old TC a try as well as keeping a eye on the predicted severe thunderstorms. Doug and party fished the flats near the Navy Pier and got constant shorts from numerous drifts. We stopped counting after about 30 shorts, so we moved into the deeper water along the TC Channel when the tide was in neutral.

We were rewarded with some beautiful 3-5lb fat and plump keepers.........really nice fish for the TC area. We've been banging fish like these on our Ambrose trips, but the TC Channel is now giving up some really "quality" fish. The main bait of choice today was, without a doubt, the Peruvian Smelt and Squid combo.

The Fluke season closes in about a month, so don't waste time. Time to get out there guys and girls!!!!

Capt. John
