Fellow Anglers,

Had Dr. Mike Goldberg our for some R & R at Ambrose Channel for some Fluke fishing. We had incoming water and a very light southwest wind that made the whole bay area like a lake.........georgous! The best way to describe Friday morning was a slow pick.

Don't get me wrong, when had a lot of action with throwbacks, Sea Robbins, Dogfish and a few Sea Bass, but the number and quantity of KEEPER Fluke was a slow pick as compared to just a few days ago. I t could have been any number of reasons, but as you know, I'm not a big fan of incoming tide.

Hands down winner of "best bait" was far and away the whole squid mounted on a double hook rig that we hand tie for our charters. No short strikes with our customers! Outfished everything we had on the boat......everything! We were using 6 oz of lead to hold bottom even at top of the tide in 60-72 feet of water with braided line of course.

So we had a limit catch with fish ranging in size from 2lb's on up to a really fat and plump 6 lb'er with 3 & 4 lb'ers mixed in. All quality fish. Boy these fish are really chowing down for the winter, as even shorts are fat as a pancake.

Great fishing guys and gals, so get out there before it's over. (Nice boat John Cuozzo.......keep the spot quiet!)

Tight Lines,

Capt. John
