Report For October 30, 2006: Well it appears that this season is a wrap, due to weather our last 9 Canyon trips were cancelled as well as a few Inshore trips as the winds have stayed with us for the past few weeks. All in all it was a great season and we would like to thank all of you that fished with us this year. We hope to see you all again next year. We will be leaving this upcoming week, to head down to our winter home in Key Largo Florida, fishing out of the Ocean Reef Club. We are also taking reservations for Florida fishing and currently taking dates for our season in New Jersey for 2007. I know it is early but call early for choice dates, we do have a few charters that were cancelled this year that must go out next year, so get your crew together. Also we are currently booked for next years Mako Mania shark tournament which will be held in mid June 2007. We will start with Florida reports in the next 2 weeks, until then catch ya later.

Report For October 15-16, 2006: This past Sunday on the Defiant, the Ed Hibberd charter got their last trip to the Hudson Canyon for the year in. Troll fishing the area was very slow and we only managed to catch one longfin tuna right before dark. As we set up for the chunk bite, conditions were rough and sea surface temps were on the cool side. On the night the boys went 5/8 on Yellow Fin Tuna and they also played with a small Mako shark which was released. Three swordfish were also caught that night but were all released because they were too small. A few small Mahi Mahi were also caught before heading back to the dock. On the turn around trip we fished with the Tom Stangle charter, pretty much in the same area as the charter before, and some better action. On the chunk the group went 9/9 on Yellow Fin Tuna with fish all under the boat. The charter could have doubled their catch when a squid dragger decided he was gonna push us right off our anchor, and force us into drifting the rest of the trip. On the drift nothing was caught as daylight approached. The best catch came in around 3 Am.
