We left from Plymouth, MA again, fishing for cod and haddock on Stellwagen Bank. We had a good ride out, with 5-10 mph winds from the NW, shifting NE during the day. Fishing was steady all day. We never had a "catch them at will" moment, but three fishermen took home 45 keepers between the cod, haddock, and caddock.

Yep, caddock! This fish was part cod and part haddock! I've heard about them recently, and it was great to see one. You can see photos on my website. The biggest fish was "only" 12 pounds, but we did ok on the fillet bags. It was a blast.

Seeing whales in several locations, our customers really had a good time. We tried to "get greedy" and catch fish on the top of Stellwagen Bank, but we didn't find them, so we headed east to the slopes on the eastern side of the bank. Upon getting there, we did fine. We found haddock exactly where we found only cod last week. That was strange. We had a few nice flurries of 26-30 inch cod, but it was mostly haddock that kept us happy. For some reason, we had a pile of fish jump the hook on the way up! That was an amazing thing today--I bet we lost a dozen good fish on the way up!

Tight lines and hope for calm seas!

Bio: I'm Capt. Rich Antonino and I specialize in small private charters in Massachusetts from April-November. We fish for cod/haddock from Green Harbor and Plymouth. We fish Buzzards Bay for sea bass, porgy(scup), fluke, stripers/blues. We love shark fishing and tuna fishing and our boat is perfect for that. It's fast--we cruise at over 30 mph and can hit 40 mph. The boat has a full cabin and more fishing space than most 6-packs! We have a blast.
