Capt. Tom DePersia of Bigfish II Charters reports excellent fishing on Stellwagen Bank this week. The tuna action was RED HOT. The Bruce Strachan party of Twinsburg ,OH took a 760 lb. Giant Bluefin Tuna on the Bigfish III on one day and loads of cod and haddock and school tuna on the next day. Bigfish II boats lost two other giant tuna this week also. There have been giant tuna caught here every day for the last few weeks some well over 1,000 lbs. It's great to see this action back here again. Our best day on school tuna this week was with the Mike Wann party of Eden,N.Y.on Bigfish III with eleven(11) school tuna between 40 and 100 lbs. The Bigfish II got seven school tuna that day also. All were released excpt for our legal limits.
Cod and haddock trips continue to please patrons. Most trips also had wolffish, pollack and cusk also. Biggest cod 37 lbs. lots of fat haddock. Stripoed bass fishing was somewhat slower than earlier this season.
