Happy Day Today boat address

Bahia Mar Charter Dock

801 Sea Breeze Blvd.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316

We offer half day morning charters which depart at 7:30 am and afternon charters departing at 1pm. Also we depart at 7:00am on a 6 hour charter and an all day charter. The boat is based out of the Bahia Mar and parking is behind the boat. Types of charters we offer are offshore Mahi and Wahoo fishing trips. We head offshore in about 700 feet of water and look for weed lines, floating debris and or flocks of birds. The average catch can range from 5 to 8 Mahi per offshore trip and the average fish weighs 8 to 12 pounds with some 20 pounders mixed in.

Another option is to kite fish for Sails. We use two kites and its ideal for the wind to be blowing 10 mph for a nice spread. We fish four baits off the kites and two baits out of the riggers totaling 6 live baits in the spread.

We also shark fish just out front of Ft. Lauderdale in 150 to 400 feet of water. From February through June the sharks bite good. How we tpyically fish for sharks, one on the bottom, one in the middle of the water column and one on the surface.

The baits we use are dead Bonito and King Mackerel.

The oils and blood from the baits are drawn down the reef and the sharks can pick up the scent almost a mile away. We use 9/0 and 10/0 hooks.

Also we troll on the reef catching Bonito and Kings. The action can be very good and typically lasts through out the day. When the bite is on, we catch our limit and move on to wreck fishing.

The wrecks off Lauderdale are good for catching Amberjack and Grouper.

Ane edible fish you can take home and cook up, anything caught that is not edible or game fish, we let go. The only fish the charter boat keeps are fish that can be used for chum and strips. Also if any cusotmer catches a nice fish and wants to keep a trophy, just about everything else is released.
