Cape Cod, Massachusetts - Saltwater Fishing Report
Cape Cod

Capt. Tom DePersia of Bigfish II Charters out of Marshfield, MA reports great fishing on Stellwagen Bank this week. Both Giant Tuna and School Tuna were taken here every day. Bigfish II Charters had all school tuna trips this week and scored 2 to 10 fish on every trip. These school tuna ranged from 50 lbs. to over 100 lbs. each. Giant Bluefin Tuna from 600 lbs. to well over 1,000 lbs. were caught in the fleet every day. Live bluefish from 8-15 lbs.fished on kites were the bait of choice. September and October are usually the hottest months for tuna here since these fish begin feeding heavily to prepare for late fall migration in November.

Cod/Haddock fishing was also excellent this week with Cod to 33 lbs. and lots of nice Haddock, Wolffish and Pollack to fill the coolers with fillets.

Striped Bass fishing improved off Provencetown this week with some 20 and 30 lb. fish around. Check out our website at www.bigfishcharters.com for more info or call 781-834-7504.
