With the water still high and a little guts you can sure explore some new places mon. There are certain places on the east side of the Lower Laguna Madre that if you didn't know better you would swear you were fishing bonefish in the Bahamas. I call this place the LITTLE BAHAMAS!!

The water is crystal clear, shallow, hard bottom, and very little grass. Perfect for spotting redfish a country mile away.I was guiding my good friend and client Jeff Galen two days ago and we started out on the West side as far west as we dare go. Just couldn't connect. We threw in the towel and both decided to go to the East side as far as we dared go. Well, it paid off and we had some great sight fishing for redfish in the 5-8 lbs. with fly rods. A lightly weighted white streamer in a size #4 well placed provided plenty of action. The water has been high now for about 2 months. I don't expect it to last much longer but as long as it does, the east side is a good bet. Give me a call and let's go bother some fish.

Fish Species: redfish
Bait Used: flies
Tackle Used: 8wt. fly rod
Method Used: sight fishing
Water Depth: 12-18
Water Temperature: 82
Wind Direction: SE
Wind Speed: 5-10 mph
