Good morning, Things are happening! We are in a thunderstorm here right now, I'm not lying. Heavy rain, some lightning and thunder. Absolutely crazy. And then it sounds like the Arctic air is moving in right behind this. I would have to say that will mean some ugly conditions somewhere around the state. That's enough from weathermandan! I hope all of you had a happy and healthier Thanksgiving than I did. I was fine on Thanksgiving day, but the day after was not good. Tim Edinger, Mike Kennedy, Bro-In-Law Chris Estle and my Dad went rooster hunting in sw Minnesota. I spent most of the day laying in the grass, yacking! Sorry for that.

If the winter fishing season is anything like my last two open water trips, I think it will be a good one. I was out on the day before Thanksgiving and we caught some decent walleye's in 20-30 feet of water. We were using jigs and minnows. The Triton is now put away for the season and for any of you that are looking for a quality boat and awesome service, I would suggest shopping Nisswa Marine. They will treat you right. I'm currently hurrying to get ready for the St. Paul Ice Fishing Show. I will be at the Sno Bear booth. We will also have a batch of Artic Armor bibs, parkas and gloves at booth 113, I truly believe this is what all hard-core ice anglers will be wearing in the future. It's $299.99 for the complete suit. We should be on the ice early next week by the looks of the extended forecast.

Tip of the week: Buy your Extravaganza tickets and book your rooms (if there are any left).

Bio: Dan grew up in Eden Prairie and as a child he fished Round Lake, Starring, Mitchell, Riley, Bryant, Lotus, Minnetonka, Victoria, Pearson, Auburn, Waconia, Parley, Purgatory Creek and every other pot hole around town. He was introduced to the sport of fishing by his father, who is an avid outdoorsman. Dan and his brother John (who now lives in Idaho) hunted, fished and trapped when ever they had the chance. During the summer month's, Dan's family would normally spend a week or so up in the "lakes area" of central Minnesota. Marv Koeps was always the "spot" to stop as soon as they got into Nisswa.
