Hi Folks,

This is the first report from Capt. Bruce and the "Marilyn S" of Capeshores Charters. I will be offering periodic weekly fishing reports from the Southest Cape Cod area. I fish the majority of my charters for stripers with light 15 pound spinning gear. With the purchase of a new 34' Ernest Libby lobsterboat last year, I am expanding into the offshore bluefin fishery with 30 and 50 lb. standup tackle as well.

I am located on the "elbow" of Cape Cod in the town of Chatham, Massachusetts. My harbor, located on the ocean side of the Cape, has the shortest run to the bluefin tuna grounds east of Chatham and Nantucket. The fast currents around the tip of Monomoy Island provide excellent rips over the gravelly sandbars for striper fishing.

You can see lots more information upon my website located at: http://www.sportfishingcapecod.com

Thanks very much,

Captain Bruce Peters & the "Marilyn S"

About The Author: Captain Bruce Peters

Company: Capeshores Charters

Area Reporting: Southeaster Cape Cod and offshore area

Bio: Capt. Bruce is a 16th generation Cape Codder, offering light tackle fishing charters for striped bass and bluefin tuna. A commercial fisherman and boat operator for over 38 years on both Atlantic and Pacific coasts, he has the acquired sea experience to ensure a safe and rewarding trip. I believe it is my personality coupled with the amazing fishing that we have here on Cape Cod to be the reason my business is successful. That aside, it is my responsibility to make sure you have a safe trip. Judgments as to weather conditions, experience of the crew (your party), etcetera all depend upon my assessment of the situation. I cringe when I hear of the news media citing reports of a "rouge wave" as a reason for a boating accident. It all boils down to the captain's decision to go out that day or not and where he put his boat.
