Kash and I hit the water early this morning to get in a day on the Police to Mac stretch ourselves before guiding books us up the rest of the summer. I was so happy to see cloud cover, the perfect conditions for these bow river fish. We pretty much hopper dropper fished the whole day with the exception of the hour of streamer fishing in the morning that did not move a fish (insert confusion and disappointment here). I got a nice rainbow right off the bat the first stretch we hopped out and fished from shore, but it took 5 drifts of the pocket before the bow came up and ate the stone dry.

My buddy and old roommate Jaime, who also guides, rolled out of bed late and met us part way down around 11:00 and we continued to fish the stonefly dropper setups. We were getting a lot of eats on a caddis emerger as well as the stonefly eats but not enough to blow you away. In fact there was a lot of what that we couldn't figure out how or why we didn't move a fish in but that's fishing for you some days I guess right.

We all had to be off early as we had appointments at 4:30 so we didn't get to fish the evening hatch but I'm sure it would've been great given the number of mid day eats
