Mean & Angry Blues Invade shallows

2007-06-05 21:35:09
Sandy Hook, New Jersey - Saltwater Fishing Report
Sandy Hook Bay

Each year at this time, Bluefish show up for some kind of odd ritual in the warm shallows. They divide up into small packs and swim lazily around "daisy chaining like Tarpon. They don't feed aggressively and don't behave like you would typically expect bluefish.

However when angered by a splashing popper, they come alive and strike with a vengance! Shallow water adds to the thrill of it all by making the fish leap and make long runs taking line all the way into the backing.

We have dates available to chase these fish, but this window of opportunity closes shortly as the fish move offshore.

Take a kid fishing!

Bio: My name is Capt. Paul Eidman, I grew up fishing with my father and grandfather out on Long Island, we fished both the North and South Shores for blues, bass, sharks and everything else that swims. I was transplanted here in New Jersey back in the ‘70’s,

I quickly adapted to my new waters and have a very diverse fresh and saltwater angling background. I am eager to show you some of the techniques and tricks specific to these local waters that are acquired with years of fishing experience.

Since 1991, our company, Reel Therapy has become diverse as well. We offer personalized, guided fishing trips for the beginner or advanced angler aboard our 20’ Light Tackle guide boat. Most trips are with 2-3 anglers and are 6 hours or so long and leave from a variety of ports depending upon the time of year. We trailer our boat closer to the fish to maximize your fishing time.

We specialize in saltwater fly fishing and light tackle sport fishing for Stripers, Bluefish, Weakfish, False Albacore and more.

We have expanded our services by offering experienced anglers trips by fishing kayak as well. You and several of your fishing buddies could enjoy a day paddling and fishing areas that rarely see any angling pressure at all.

During the summer and fall, we also offer group kayak ecotours. This is a great opportunity to bring along your non fishing friends and explore the estuaries and backwaters of Central NJ.

Whatever your outdoor interests may be, REEL THERAPY will put together a trip just for you!
