Todays weather was cloudy and cool with temperatures in the 30's most of the day, light rain and a few snowflakes, a perfect day to catch Guntersville Bass. I fished from 11 a.m. til 4:30 and the bite was pretty steady all day. I had over thirty bites, a lot of the fish were on the small side, but I did catch some quality fish. I had a pair of 5 pounders, a couple of fours, and several three pounders. My best 5 weighed over 20lbs.

Heavy rains earlier in the week has water levels high and dropped water temperatures into the mid to upper 40's with lots of current.

I caught my fish on a variety of small shallow crankbaits. It's important not to get stuck on one bait. A certain bait be catching lots of fish,

but another lure may draw better quality bites. This has been and usually is the case here on these cold water Guntersville Bass and the lure pattern is constantly changing. So keep trying different baits and you will find the quality you deserve. I want to remind everyone to wear their lifejackets during these extreme conditions. Good luck and Good Fishing!
