The 25' Parker "Reel Fun" is high and dry for the winter. To summarize what the fishing was in 2008 in a word, disappointing. The Striper fishing for trophy size fish in 2008 was very hit or miss depending on if you were lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time. The spring 2008 run of Stripers only last about 2 weeks in the back of Raritan Bay and then it was small scattered pods of fish moving all over the bay making my job of finding those fish very difficult. 2007 Striper fishing in our area was way, way better both in quantity and size. Let's hope we have a repeat of 2007 for Stripers. The Fluke season in 2008, was also not as good as 2007, although we did have some really good days too. Not as big of fish as 2007, but the numbers were pretty good as far as quantity. Weakfish again was a bust in 2008........let's hope this doesn't signal a problem with those fish. And what can I say about the ever dependable Bluefish........by the thousands. Big, small whatever you wanted. If you wanted GREAT light tackle sportfishing action, then Bluefish was your best bet for 2008. INCREDIBLE! Thanks to all for a great fishing year in 2008. See you mid April of 2009
