Spent 4 days fishing the open waters of the gulf and back bays surrounding Clearwater.

We mainly fished with light spinning tackle, as I left to fast to pack any of my fly gear.

It was great to get south and feel the sunshine and a tug on my line.

We fished aboard "Reel Therapy" south, a 22ft Pathfinder with bow mount electric which was great! Got to use a new "power pole" for the first time and it was a great option.

We found lots of smaller fish with an occasional sighting of a large snook to keep us on our toes.

Small stickbaits and jigs were the ticket.

Plenty of Ladyfish as well. Kinda light on the Spanish mackeral just yet but they are picking up.

Remember if you are looking to fish for back bay and river stripers in the navesink, shrewsbury and raritan river, please reach out to me at reel therapy fly & light Tackle to reserve your spring trip!
