22/6/09 I start on a sad note, that our manger Mr John Murphy's Father died during the past week and on behalf of all the Gillies and all members of the Waterville fishery development Group and all Angler's alike we send our deepest sympathy to Mr and Mrs John Murphy and their daughter and all their Family and friends. Lough Currane was like a pancake so the least said the soonest mended, wind no comment, there was reasonable cloud cover but very humid, max air temperature 20.2c. 23/6/09 Another scorching day with 14.7 hours of sun, max air temperature 22.7c at least there were the odd Sea Trout caught. 24/6/09 There was a strong SE wind blowing and in the Salmon department local Gillie Mr Bob priestly caught a Grilse on the troll, now to the Sea trout department just the odd one or two taken and just for the record I got today's facts from Mr Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville boats and @ lobsterb@iol.ie Max air temperature 21.9c. 25/6/09 There were a few Sea trout caught but nothing like Fish of the week on www.cfb.ie and I can tell you its well worth looking at. Wind, there was a strong SE wind blowing down the lake, I will go down stream to the famous Butler Pool and @ www.watervillegolflinks.ie where local angler Mike O'Dwyer caught a Grilse. Wind as already stated, max air temperature 23.1c and just for the record there was 15.7 hours of sun. 26/6/09 On the Big Lake/Lough Currane just a few Sea trout caught but fair play to local angler Mike O'Dwyer, who kept the Waterville wild Atlantic Salmon flag flying when he caught a grilse on the Butler Pool. Wind ESE light to fresh and sunny, Amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 0.2mm, max air temperature 20.6c,14.7 hours of sunshine. 27/6/09 On the Sea trout front there were a few Sea trout caught in the 2lbs class by guests fishing out of the Butler Arms Hotel and @ www.Butlerarms.com Wind ESE light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Max air temperature 21.2c. 28/6/09 it was a wild day on Lough Currane with a strong ESE wind blowing and as I wasn't pontificating, I got today's facts from WWW.lakelandhouse.com and Mr Frank Donnelly was telling that there just a few Sea trout caught but no real rod benders. Wind as already stated and overcast with light rain late this afternoon. Amount of rainfall 1.2mm, max air temperature 18.8c. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville fishery. No spin No fly's just Facts.
