6/7/09 It made a flood this morning but both my Noble Salmon and Sea Trout were in a lethargic mood even though the odd Sea Trout were caught. Wind NW fresh to strong with showers, amount of rainfall 2.9mm, max ait temperature 17.4c.7/7/09 Again my noble gentlemen the Salmon weren't in a taking mood and in the Sea trout department there was a few Sea trout caught but nothing that would hit the national sports head lines and staying in the Sea Trout department , Mr Richard Mann caught five Sea Tout up to 2lbs in the last few days with his Gillie Mr Sylvester Donnelly of the Anglers Rest cottage and for all you anglers who like a self-catering fishing Holliday home, visit www.salmonandseatrout.com Wind NW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Amount of rainfall 2.0mm,max air temperature 18.0c.8/7/09 Lough Currane was on the quiet side in all departments but the same couldn't be said for the Commeragh river where local Angler Mr Mike O'Dwyer caught a Grilse and a Sea trout on the Fly. Wind NW light to calm with reasonable cloud cover. Amount of rainfall 0.3mm, max air temperature 17.9c. 9/7/09 all quiet on the SW front and with very little wind what do you expect, wind NW light to calm with reasonable cloud cover. Max air temperature 17.8c.10/7/09 Made a reasonable flood this morning but alas my noble game fish weren't in a taking mood, but going by www.Loughcurrane.com the Sea Trout were in a taking mood and facts are as follows, a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy caught 6 Sea Trout up to 3lbs, also in good form was Mr David O'Neill with two sea Trout to his rod and our Manger Mr John Murphy was also reporting that Anglers fishing around the Church Island, caught some nice baskets of Sea trout. Wind SSW light to calm and overcast and very humid, amount of rainfall 14.3mm, max air temperature 18.2c. 11/7/09 Made another flood today with a strong SW wind blowing, and I believe all boats were blown off come lunch time but before the whistle was blown because of the weather Mr Ken Towner of the UK and Waterville caught a fine Sea trout in the 3lbs class on the drift, now I will head up stream to the Commeragh River where Mr Antony Buckley of Cork caught a Grilse and a fine Sea Trout. On the River Inny A client fishing with his gillie Me Neil O'Shea and of www.Oshealoughcurrane.com caught a Grilse. Wind as all ready stated, amount of rainfall 37.7mm, max air temperature17.8c. 12/7/09 As you can see there was a good flood and most importantly some Anglers did see some good action and I will leave the best to last I will begin on the Commeragh River, where again Mr Antony Buckley of Cork was in good form again because he caught himself a fine specimen 6.5lbs Sea Trout and I was talking to other Anglers on the Commeragh one of them lost a cracker of a fish well over 12lbs but as I always say, losses don't count but at least they had a rod bender and last but not least, Mr John O'Brien caught a Grilse now down stream to the Big Lake/Lough Currane and Mr Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ lobsterb@iol.ie was telling me that Mr David Lawler caught a fine Sea Trout of 4lbs fishing in one of his hired out boats and staying with the Sea trout department, Mr Roger Baker of www.Cloghvoola.com caught a 10lbs Sea Trout which he sportingly put back, as he always does, now for the fish of the day and that goes to Mr Michael Henry of France and fishing out of the Famous Butler Arms Hotel and of www.Butlerarms.com caught a 13lbs Salmon on the fly at 8am this morning on the River Inny, also in good form on the Inny was Mr Terrance Wharton Jnr, with one Grilse to his rod and our Manger Mr John Murphy of www.Loughcurrane.com was telling me that there were other anglers that caught Salmon/grilse and Sea trout to their rods, on the Commeragh river in the last 48 hours. Wind SW fresh to strong at times with the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall 4.8mm, max air temperature 17.4c. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville fishery.
