26/5/08 Again we had strong ENE wind blowing but that didn't deter Mr Cowen of Colorado USA catching a fresh 9lbs Salmon on the troll with his Gillie Mr Neil O'Shea and of WWW.Oshealoughcurrane.com Max air temperature 17.8C/64.04F. 27/5/08 There was some great action on the Waterville fishery today and I will start with the Commeragh River and work my way down to Lough Currane. First in my striking zone, yes you have it, the King Of the Commeragh, Mr Mike Dwyer was in good form again when he caught himself a fine Salmon in the 8lbs class, now to Lough Currane where Mr Dona McCarthy of Boston Mass USA and Waterville, caught a fine 10lbs on the fly on the drift, also in good form was Mr Ken Towner of the UK and Waterville who also caught a 5lbs Grilse on the drift out at the Church Island. In the trolling department Mr Tom Dugan caught a Salmon with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy. Our Manger Mr john Murphy and of WWW.Loughcurrane.com reported to me that there was some fine action In the Sea Trout department and first in the striking zone was Mr Paul Dorman who caught Two fine Sea trout on the fly, one at 3.5lbs and one at 5.5lbs also in good form was Mr Mike Taylor who caught one at 4.5lbs last but not least A guest fishing with Mr Bob Priestly caught a fine Sea Trout of 4.5lbs. Wind E light to fresh and overcast. Max air temperature 14.C/57.2F. 28/5/08 all quiet on the SW front after yesterdays excitement, but not if you were in Mr Jim Sayers boat because he caught himself a fine specimen Sea trout of 7.5lbs and I can tell you Jim is no stranger, to catching my noble specimen. Wind WSW light to calm with bright sunshine throughout the day, max air temperature 17.7C/60. 26F. 29/5/08 There is only one Angler who hit's the head lines in the Salmon department and that is Mr John Griffin and @ johngriffinloughcurrane@hotmail.com he caught a fine 9.5lbs Salmon on the troll on the Southside of the Lake and as they say some of us have it and some of us don't and going by the rest of we so called anglers, the least said the soonest mended, but thanks to John he kept the Waterville wild North Atlantic Salmon flag flying high. On the Sea Trout front, Mr Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats reported, that one of his hired out boats caught a Sea Trout in the 3lbs Class. Wind S light and overcast with light drizzle at times, amount of rain fall 1.6mm, max air temperature 17.6C/63.68F. 30/5/08 Mr Stanifort was the toast of the wild Atlantic Salmon today when he caught a fine 8lbs Salmon on the troll with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy and you can contact Dominic on 353(0)872051515 on the Sea Trout front there a few caught but nothing that would hit the Lough Currane Headlines. Wind light WNW then veered WSW. Amount of rainfall 6.3mm, max air temperature 16.3C/61.34F. 31/5/08 very little action during the day in both departments and for a good reason with the sun blazing down on the lake, wind light to calm in the morning , but come 11am the wind came from the WNW then veered WSW fresh and even though there was a good wave for my Noble Sea Trout, kept a low profile as did my noble Salmon. Max air temperature16.1C/60.98F, amount of rain fall 0.1mm. 1/6/08 Another blazing hot day and both Salmon and Sea trout and anglers alike were keeping a low profile and the anglers that did venture out caught a good suntan. Wind E calm. Max air temperature 16.8C/62.24F. That is all the news from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery. No Spin no Fly's just facts.
