8/6/09 local Angler Mike Dwyer caught a fine 10lbs Salmon on the troll early this morning. In the Sea Trout department very little doing due to the NE east wind blowing down the lake with the occasional shower, mind you that is no excuse. Amount of rainfall 0.2mm, max air temperature 16.8c. 9/6/09 Mr Rob Wasmuth of the UK and Waterville caught a 10.5lbs salmon on the troll with his Gillie Mr Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats @ lobsterb@iol.ie and considering the flat calm conditions they did well and in the Sea Trout department Mr Bob Priestly caught a Sea Trout in the 2lbs class, also in good form was Mr Barry Vaughan of the UK, Barry was in a hired out boat from www.lakelandshouse.com and caught three fine Sea Trout of which the biggest weighed in at 3.5lbs What wind was there was from the NE light to calm and overcast with light rain on and off all-day, amount of rainfall 3.5mm, max air temperature 13.5c.10/6/09 in the Sea trout department Mr Barry Vaughan caught one Sea trout to his rod, I believe there were a few more Sea Trout caught but nothing of great interest to the specimen Sea Trout hunters or put it this way they failed miserably in their duties. On the Wild Atlantic Salmon front no comment. Wind SW then veered NW and veered again this evening to the N and it was bright and sunny all day with the odd light shower so light it didn't register, max air temperature 15.9c. 11/6/09 On the Salmon front I was reading on www.loughcurrane.com our manger Mr John Murphy Esq. is reporting that a Honeymoon couple caught a fine 9.5lbs Salmon on the troll so a double congratulations to Mr and Mrs Forestier and staying in the Salmon department Mr Barry Vaughn fishing in a hired out boat from www.lakelandshouse.com caught a Grilse, on the Sea trout front I saw one angler with a fine sea trout in the 3lbs class. Wind NW then veered SW late this afternoon and overcast with reasonable sun breaking through at times. Amount of rain fall 0.9mm, max air temperature 14.8c. 12/6/09 There were a few Sea trout caught but fish of the day goes to that specimen hunter and well known local Gillie Mr Bob Priestly who caught a 9lbs plus Sea Trout and sportingly put it back to fight another day. Also in good form was Mr Barry Vaughn with a Sea trout in the 3lbs class. Wind SW light and overcast at times with the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall 9.8 mm, max air temperature 16.8c. 13/6/09 In the Sea Trout department Mr Kevin O'Sullivan of Lake road Waterville caught a fine sea trout in the 4lbs class, other anglers had a few rod benders but nothing that would hit the head lines in Irish Angler's Digest Magazine. In the Salmon department all quiet on the SW front. Wind SSW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 2.4mm, max air temperature 16.5c. 14/6/09 Both the Salmon and Sea trout departments were slack and for good reason especially in the fly department because there was hardly any wind until late this afternoon and what wind was there was SSW light to calm and overcast with the odd light shower, amount of rainfall 0.9mm, max air temperature 17.3c.Well, that is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville fishery.
