20/7/09 As I am sure you read in last weeks report that Mr Colin Lynham had some great Seatrout fishing, and his Gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, asked me put, Colin's, total catch down, because I failed miserably in my duties in reporting some of his catches and the same goes for Mr Roger Baker and of www.Cloghvoola.com and his client, so lets put the record straight, well Colin caught 45 Seatrout of which 39 were C&R in six days fishing from Juniors to Seatrout up to 4lbs and lost over ten and rose proximally 50 more, so congratulations to the both of them and staying in the back date department, In the words of Mr Roger Baker himself and I quote, In the week of the Waterville Seatrout Festival in July, Roger Baker and regular visitor, Chris Wathen of Guildford Surrey, enjoyed three days of great sport with many fish in the1lb to 3lb range. Biggest fish of the week was one, to Roger, which went a little over 10lb. After a hard fight, in strong winds and a big wave, the fish took 15 minutes to revive be for it being released to swim off strongly.

Now back to the present a guest fishing with Mr Frank Donnelly of WWW.Lakelandshouse.com caught a few nice Sea Trout up to 2lbs. On the evening shift, local Gillie Mr Terrance Wharton Jnr. Caught a few Juniors and he was telling that that he rose quite a few but were all taking short. Wind SSW light to calm with reasonable cloud cover. Amount of rainfall 0.6mm, max air temperature 16.8c. 21/7/09 Just a few Sea trout, bit no real rod benders. Wind SSW fresh to strong and overcast with the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall 8.7mm, max air temperature 15.6c. 22/7/09 Again just a few Seatrout caught. Wind SW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Amount of rainfall 10.mm, max air temperature 17.1c. 23/7/09 There were a few nice Seatrout caught on Lough Currane and I will begin with the maestro Mr Brod O'Sullivan and his guest Mr Dan Sugrue who were fishing in the Mouth of the Commeragh caught some fine Seatrout up to 4lbs also in good form was Mr Drew Brown who caught three Seatrout up to 3lbs fishing with his gillie Mr Bob Priestly. And staying the Seatrout department other anglers caught a few Seatrout but no real rod benders and in the Salmon department I was reading on www.Loughcurrane.com that Mr Christopher O'Sullivan of the UK caught a 6lbs Grilse with his Gillie Mr Tom O'Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com Wind NW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover with the odd light shower amount of rainfall 8.1mm, max air temperature 17.4c. 24/7/09 There was some reasonable action on Lough Currane, first in the striking zone was Mr Dan Sugrue of Tralee, who caught a fine basket of Seatrout, fishing with his Gillie Mr Brod O'Sullivan of Stella Maris Waterville, also in good form was Mr Drew Brown, who caught a Grilse at the Black Rocks and in the Mouth of the Commeragh a guest caught a Grilse and a Seatrout, with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy and staying with the Sea Trout, Mr Michael O'Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @lobsterb@iol.ie caught four Juniors. Wind NW light to fresh, with reasonable cloud cover, amount of rainfall 2.6mm, max air temperature 18.2c. 25/7/09 Mr Colin Lynham caught six Seatrout with his gillie Mr Mike O'Dwyer, also in good form was Mr Drew Brown who caught three Juniors with his Gillie Mr Bob Priestly and a guest fishing with Mr Neil O'Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught four Seatrout, and on the speculation and communication Trout line, other anglers caught a few Seatrout but no real rod benders. Wind SSW fresh to strong and overcast with the odd shower and talking of rain there is heavy rain falling this evening and has already made 5mm, total amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 23.1mm, max air temperature 17.8c. 26/7/09 As you can see it made a reasonable flood last night, and Lough Currane was on the wild side even though one could fish, and those that did, saw some action in the Junior department and a guest fishing with Mr Bob Priestly caught a fine 3lbs Seatrout which he sportingly put back. Wind SSW fresh to strong and overcast with heavy showers throughout the day, amount of rainfall 5.4mm,max air temperature 17.2c. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville fishery. No spin No fly's just Facts.
