25/2/08 it was a wild day on Lough Currane and there weren't any boats out until late afternoon?? Wind SW strong with light rain on and off throughout the day 26/2/08 Well there was some good news in the fly department

Where Mr Martin Lanigan O'Keefe of Waterville caught a fine 8lbs/3.62872kg Salmon on the fly, off the shore line in Capall, Martin was fishing by himself and showed we the professionals on how it is done, and being a professional himself that is not surprising and because it was the first on the fly in the 2008 season there were a few Gillies that had to eat humble pie, but at least the party started early in the Lobster Bar, and a good time was had by all. Wind west fresh to strong with the odd heavy shower, amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours 2.3mm. 27/2/08 Again my Noble gentlemen were in a quiet mood and considering the conditions its not surprising with bright sunshine and little to no wind what do you expect miracles? Wind SW calm. Rainfall 0.2mm. 28/2/08 the conditions for fishing weren't the best but you try and tell that to Mr Vincent O'Sullivan who caught a fine 8lbs Salmon on the troll with his client. In the Fly department all was at standstill due to the lack of wind and when they could cast the fly the wind was WNW light to calm and overcast throughout the day with the odd bit of drizzle. Rainfall 0.6mm. 29/2/08 another day of strong winds, coming from the SW and what boats were out failed in all fishing departments. Amount of rainfall 4.1mm. 1/3/08 A repeat of yesterday need I write more? Amount of rainfall 1.5mm. 2/3/08 Again a blustery day which made for good fishing, but my Noble Salmon were not cooperating in either the fly or the troll. Wind WNW fresh, bright and sunny in the morning then clouded up in the afternoon with the odd light shower. Amount of rainfall 1.0mm. That is all the news from your Gillie and the Waterville fishery. No Spin no Fly's just Facts.
