The Tarpon are forming feeding frenzies, attacking schools of bay anchovy fry, most of the tarpon are in the 10 to 40 pound range, with several bigger fish also seen in the area, these fish are excelent sport for 8 and 9 weight fly tackle and light tackle spinnig gear. Also, some Snook are also being caught in these frenzies.

Spin fishermen are connecting with tarpon using mostly threadfin herring and bay anchovies for bait, using flurocarbon leaders and circle hooks in the 3/0 to 5/0 size range.

Flies used are mostly dark backed streamers in olive and white and Clouser minnows in light colors, other effective flies have been Seaducers in yeelo and res and white and red as well as woolhair mullets in gray color. All the flies are tied in stainless steel hooks in the 1/0 to 3/0 range.
