December 23rd, 2011

I am on the water, enjoying my last day before taking a break for the holidays. This morning the stripe bite was pretty good, we we're in double digits by 8:30am. Nothing over 14 lbs, but plenty of action. Stripe fishing continues to be good, bass fishing has slowed a little, most quality fish have moved deeper. I caught most of the bass the other day in depths ranging from 15-25 feet.

I will be giving away a Christmas gift to the first person who can answer the question on my fishing report page, on Christmas day. I will put up the question up Christmas morning, the first person to email me the answer wins.

Also if your looking for umbrella rig checkout my websites, as I have several different models and colors to choose from.

Is your interested in fishing Smith Lake give me a call or email.  Even though it's cold, December and January are some of the best striped bass fishing on Smith Lake. So grab your gloves, bundle up and let's get on the water.
