The sound striper season is now open and yes, they are there. Keeper size fish are being caught on live crokers around the Manns Harbor Bridge with a few nicer 24-27 inch fish mixed in. The striper fishing has also been excellent around the Wright Memorial Bridge. For the most part they are a smaller class of fish, but there is a ton of them. These fish are being caught on live crokers and Berkly Gulps. Puppydrum fishing is off the hook down the sound a little way. A friend of ours, Captain Ron Livesly if really sacking them up around Longshole at the Hide County line. Now that the wind has laid down and we are able to get back in the ocean we are finding some great fishing. Early reports today are a good number of 2-3 pound bluefish around the inlet, a great king mackerel bite a few miles off with a lot of albacore mixed in. Boats that fished offshore yesterday did well with dolphin, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, and a few billfish released. Surf fishing has been producing good numbers of bluefish, some trout, and puppydrum. A few big drum have also been hauled in.

Good Luck,

Chris at Sharky's
