Well, it won't be long, spring is just around the corner. Our next warmup, look for the fishing to get really good. Yesterday we fished a half day (morning) and caught fish up to seven pounds. The lake is about two feet low and semi-clear. Right now I am fishing the hydrilla in about 2-8 foot of water.

Our best baits have been 1/2-ounce and 3/4-ounce Rat-L-Traps in red, red/chart., and orange; Suspending Super Roques in gold/orange; 3/8 to 1/2-ounce Spinnerbaits in white and white/chart.; jig-n-pig in black and blue. Right now I am using the Rat-L-Trap at least 80 percent of the time. It is definitely key to fish this bait around the hydrilla. That is where you get the majority of the bites.

Right now is the time to catch a LUNKER on Lake Fork. I am totally booked up in February and March, but I do have April 8, 10, 16, 17 and 23 open. I am also starting to book my summer night trips already. June is one of the best months of the year to fish Lake Fork. If you would like to book a trip, you can call me at 972-365-7642 or e-mail me at shane@lakeforklunker.com

Until next time, good luck, and most of all, good fishing!
