We were able to get out there again, amidst the nasty weather. So far we've lucked out with our fishing plans. Up until yesterday, the fish really cooperated. Yesterday wasn't bad--two fishermen went home with 19 keepers between the cod, haddock, and wolffish, but it seemed like a slow day. We caught many more cod than haddock, and most of the cod that we caught were keepers. That's not too normal. Usually, the ratio favors small cod by 2 or 3 to 1. The fishing in the morning was excellent, then the bite died at slack low tide.
That happens from time to time. Once the wind died down, the cold was very bearable and it was pleasant. We fished East of Stellwagen in water from 160-240' deep. Our best success once again occurred in 220' of water.
With the storms approaching, we'll be on shore for the next week or so. We had some great whale and dolphin shows once again. We had one small humpback swim up to our boat on its back!! It had a small army of dolphins alongside it. It was awesome to see and made for a great video, which I'll have online very soon.
Keep fishing and having fun. Capt. Rich Antonino

Company: Black Rose Fishing Charters
Area Reporting: Massachusetts
Bio: I'm Capt. Rich Antonino and I specialize in small private charters in Massachusetts from April-November. We fish for cod/haddock from Green Harbor and Plymouth. We fish Buzzards Bay for sea bass, porgy(scup), fluke, stripers/blues. We love shark fishing and tuna fishing and our boat is perfect for that. It's fast--we cruise at over 30 mph and can hit 40 mph. The boat has a full cabin and more fishing space than most 6-packs! We have a blast.
