We left from Bass River at 4:30am the winds were calm as well as the sea. We went west to one of my favorite fishing grounds. The lines went in and within minutes we had a 36" striper laying on the deck. We were jigging in 25' of water. The next couple of fish were a little smaller with a few bluefish mixed in. Then all of a sudden the rod bent over with what was definitely a large fish. After 10 minutes of struggling we landed a 42" striper. A few smaller bass and a few more bluefish came before we boated another large striper this one was 39". After a few more fish the clients told me they were ready to go catch a few porgy's. We traveled west another few miles to a rock pile I like to fish. As soon as we came over the rocks my bottom machine lit up with what appeared to be lots of fish. We dropped a line and immediately started cranking in porgy's. The fish were huge they were all keepers some of them were as big as 17" one was even 18" that's pretty big for a scup. We caught a few black sea bass that were mixed in. All and all I beleive the fishing doesn't get any better than that. The people on board told me it was the best fishing they had ever seen. When they got off the boat they booked another trip with me next week. Maybe I will remember my camera next trip. Here's a picture off one of their cell phones. Tight Lines, Capt. Ray
