On Wednesday Night May 2 , my dockhand Matty and myself cruised up the river to refuel. On the way back to the dock, we anchored up one of my favorite spots. Right away there was fish breaking the top of the water. One the very first cast, I landed a 24 inch stiper. Cast after cast, mostly blues with a mix of schoolie stripers came in. I didn't keep a count on the number of fish that came up. All the fish were released. No keeper sized stipers came to the boat.
Water temps were mid 50's and caught on the ebb tide. White 4 inch shad bodies were the ticket. Went thru a ton of them with the blues.
